Lest We Forget

Anzac Day is always an emotional one for Australia and New Zealand. It's the day that we remember the soldiers that went into battle and lost their lives. Many of us have family members that either fought in the war, or struggled through that difficult time in history. My grandfather (on my mum's side) was meant to fight in World War 2 but then got a minor knee injury which meant he wasn't strong enough for battle anymore. I am so thankful that he never had to fight in the War and that I was able to know him, as my other grandfather passed away shortly after returning from War when my dad was 8 years old.

Unfortunately we didn't go down to the Dawn service this year, but instead on Friday night my mum and I went down to Elephant Rock at Currumbin to check out the beautiful lighted up poppy's they had laid over the rock in memory of the soldiers that fought and lost their lives.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn;
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,
We will remember them
