Twenty Four.

Twenty-four. I honestly feel like the years are going by so fast. Just 10 years ago I was in Grade 9, and now I am a university graduate, have had two jobs, and have progressed so much as a person. To celebrate my birthday I went out to dinner and Timezone with my friends Emma, Simone and Edwina. We went to this cool restaurant called Outback Jack's, which is great as they have a huge selection of meals and a really cool and comfortable atmosphere.

It's so cool to catch up with these girls and find out about all the exciting things they're doing and also to have a laugh and reminisce on the good old days. Emma, Simone and I were best friends in high school and it's amazing to see how far we've come, but that we're all still essentially the same people when we get together.

Simone's having a baby girl in just two months! It's still so weird to see her baby bump but it's very exciting. Emma is doing really well at her job and continues to overcome all of the things that life throws at her - she's the strongest person I know. I've only met Edwina a couple of times through Emma but I really enjoy her company - I think our personalities and values are quite similar, even though our interests are completely opposite.

Honestly my life is at a bit of a stand still at the moment. I left my full-time job and have not yet found another, I still live at home, and I still have not experienced being in a relationship. But I hope that in one year from now I can say that I do have a full-time job that I love, have moved out, and have experienced love in some capacity.

This year as not started off on the best note but I'm determined to make sure it's an active and progressive year for me. It's my last year of being in my early twenties and I know that I need to start setting up my life the way I want it to be in the future. ♥

  1. I'm 25, and I'm in a bit of a stand-still in my life, too, so I can relate to this - but I have a good feeling that 2016 will be our year! Best of luck in finding a new job x

  2. I can't relate - this year has not been so great so far, but let's hope this year only gets even better.

And I think it's okay to be at a stand-still sometimes. Just let it be. A quote I have been living by a lot lately is "it is, what it is" and it's okay. Take each day as it comes and everything soon will hopefully fall into place. :)

    All the best, Erin x

    1. Thank you for sharing Jess. If this year didn't start on the right foot, hopefully things can only get better. :)

I heard something yesterday about how when everything is at a stand still it's your guides and angels cleansing you and detoxing you so you can move ahead into the next stage of life. I feel like that's quite accurate to everything I've kind of been through in my life. I feel so incredibly stuck at the moment but maybe it's just not the right time for everything to go ahead yet.
