My Top 10 Most Valuable Vinyl Records

I've been wanting to do a "Top 10 Vinyl Records" post for a long time now, but I had no idea how to classify them - should I pick my favourite albums, the records that were hardest to find, or the ones that had the most value personally. I decided to choose this specific Top 10 based on rarity, colour, and price.

When purchasing records I always look out for any exclusive or limited edition versions. For example, a couple of months ago 'Purpose' by Justin Bieber was released on vinyl. I had preordered it on Amazon and it was a standard black vinyl edition. Just before the release date Urban Outfitters announced they would be releasing an exclusive clear vinyl of the album. I immediately cancelled my Amazon preorder and purchased the Urban Outfitters version, even though it cost a little bit more. I really love coloured records and although I included a few picture discs in this post, I'm not too fussed on those.

There are two records I am dying to get: English Rain by Gabrielle Aplin (Blue), and A Fever You Can't Sweat Out by Panic! At The Disco (Gold). They are both astronomically expensive so if I ever see them at a decent price I will pounce on them straight away. But for now, here is my Top 10...

  1. This is awesome! I've never seen a lot of differently colored ones, so it's awesome to see. For Christmas I got a record player, so now I'm all interested in getting some more. I would love to see a top 10 records in the future!

I play a ton of my dad's old records, so the only one that is new in my collection is Bad Suns - Language and Perspective. It's fantastic.

  2. So much pretty! If I lived somewhere where it wasn't so darn quiet with people that live around me, then I would buy a record player and start buying vinyl! I ADORE the Panic! At The Disco one - it's gorgeous.

I'd definitely read another post like this, if you did one!

    1. Thank you Meg!

I'm quite lucky that we have quite a decent sized house and lots of space around it so I don't worry too much about the noise :)

  3. I absolutely love all your records and your player.
Forgive me, I'm new to your site, but do you have a review on the player that's shown here? I've been thinking about getting one, but I'd like a honest review before I look into it. <3

  4. Umm, HECK YES. To everything about this post -- please do more! I collect vinyl and adore getting new colored ones. I have a clear twenty one pilots one, pink Of Monsters and Men vinyl, etc. It is the best. The Perks LP, Ryan Adams, beautiful Maroon 5, and even a PLAID VINYL?! Gah, you rock.

    1. I'm so glad you liked it Erin! I might do my overall top 10 favourite records next but the bummer is that most of them are just plain black because they weren't released any other way which looks pretty boring. I'll have to make a list and see how it goes :)
