A quick catch up...

A lot has happened in the last few weeks! March 6 was my last day of work at my job (I'm still doing some work for the company but it's on a contract basis from home). The day after I finished work I woke up with the flu - I was expecting to get sick sometime after finishing work as I'd been running only on adrenaline for awhile and knew my body would crash, but I was hoping I'd get more than 12 hours of health! Luckily I'm at 99% health now which is great.

Kingsman. I saw this movie a couple of weeks ago with my friends and it's one of my absolute favourite movies of the last few years. I've only seen it once but I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. If any of you haven't seen it I really urge you to as it has everything a good movie should have - action, humour, bromance, mentoring, surprises and good characters with a lot of heart (Colin Firth's character is literally called Harry Hart).

Ed Sheeran concert. Last Friday my mum and I went to see Ed Sheeran at the Riverstage in Brisbane. It was absolutely incredible even though poor Ed had the man flu and struggled with a couple of songs. After being sick for the last 2 weeks myself I know how hard it is to breathe and talk let alone sing when so you've got to commend him for his incredible performance. Luckily we went the first night of the three shows which was such a relief as it rained the two shows after ours. Actually in 2013 when I saw him it rained and was sick for a whole month afterwards so I really feel for the people that were there Saturday & Sunday.

Babies! My mum's boyfriend's daughter (whoah that's a long description) had a baby just a couple of weeks ago which is pretty exciting. They had a baby boy named Soren. Apparently there's the beginnings of a whooping cough outbreak so my brother Tom & I got the vaccine yesterday so we can go and meet the baby. I've also got a dentist appointment on Wednesday which I'm worried about because I think one of my wisdom teeth need to come out!

The Big Move. Since work ended I've been working on organising a lot of my things for my move to Newcastle. I'll be living there in less than 2 months which is pretty scary. Honestly, I'm having a lot of doubts about it but it's more like pre-wedding jitters than a bad feeling about it. I've never liked the Gold Coast so I keep saying to myself that it can't be worse than living here. It hasn't helped that I've reconnected with a lot of friends recently and moving away will most likely put the friendship on hold again.

Polaroid. I also took the plunge and bought a Polaroid SX-70 camera. It was pretty cheap and works perfectly which was a relief as there's always a risk that the camera won't work, especially when you buy it on eBay. Film is ridiculously overpriced but I think if you use the film sparingly for special moments then it's absolutely worth it.

I think that's everything for now! Let me know what you guys have been up to - it's been awhile.  ♥

  1. I love your Polaroid! I bought one too before but haven't found the right film for it or if they still make some for that specific camera. Instead I'm using my Instax mini. The film is more affordable compared to the regular sized ones. It's really fun to use!

    1. The only film you can get these days is from The Impossible Project unfortunately. It's very expensive so I use film very sparingly! Out of all the instant films available the Instax Wide is definitely my favourite. :)

  2. I wish they'd come back with more film to fit these cameras. I still have my polaroid camera that still works. Oh well, I'm hoping to get a mini Instax soon. :) Good luck with moving.

    1. The downfall of Polaroid is such a bummer. We're lucky that The Impossible Project exists but the cost is just so crazy expensive it makes you wonder if it's worth it. I have to say though I definitely recommend the Instax Wide if you want better quality pictures - I always have trouble with Instax Mini photos.

      Thanks for commenting Stephanie :)

    1. I would 100% marry Ed haha. I think he's got quite the line up to pick from though. His last girlfriend was absolutely stunning!

Very, very true! Unfortunately the baby and I are still kept apart as the Whooping Cough vaccine takes up to 2 weeks to kick in.

  4. Dang, I have wanted to watch Kingsman for the longest time! I saw the trailer for it a couple of weeks ago and I've fallen in love with it! So jealous that you got to see Ed Sheeran as well! I've had my love-hate moments with his music, but I definitely want to see him in concert one day! Good luck with moving! I'm sure you'll love the new place :)

    1. Kingsman is so good but it's leaving cinemas this week :( At least in my country...

Ooh that's interesting - I've never heard someone say they have a love/hate relationship with Ed's music. I'm curious, what part do you dislike?

      Thanks for the luck!
